MYRTLE CREEK MAN JAILED FOR DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A Myrtle Creek man was jailed following an alleged disorderly conduct incident on Monday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 1:30 p.m. a deputy saw 50-year old Marc Harper walking up the middle of North Old Pacific Highway in Myrtle Creek, before making a 90 degree turn and crossing right in front of traffic. The report said the suspect had been called in for trespassing and being disorderly in the area most of the morning. When told he was being placed under arrest, Harper initially refused and walked away before turning back round, ripping his sweatshirt and throwing it at the deputy’s feet.

The report said when the deputy attempted to put Harper in handcuffs, he threw his arms up and the deputy had to force his arms back together again to get him into the handcuffs. Harper allegedly continued to identify himself with a fake name when asked multiple times.

Charges included second degree disorderly conduct, providing false information to a peace officer and for interfering with a peace officer. Harper was detained on $15,000 bail.
