1 more person has died of COVID-19 in Douglas County, 5 more people have received new positive test results, and there is 1 new presumptive case, as of Monday.
County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the 62nd death was a 61-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 21st and passed away on Sunday.
An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 2,941. Of those, 2,797 are people that have received positive test results and 144 are presumptive. 8 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 4 locally and 4 outside the area. 124 people are in isolation. 263 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network are supporting 387 people that are either in isolation or quarantine. That is a decrease of 10 people since Sunday.
The update said there has been a definite decrease in cases in the county, in the last two months. However, unless there are changes to the state’s guidance criteria, Douglas County will stay in the state’s mandated High Risk COVID-19 guidance for the next two weeks, beginning this Friday. The State of Oregon will make its official announcement on Tuesday. The update said Douglas County had 147 total cases in the two-week period ending on Saturday.
