COVID-19 CLAIMS 5 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,362, AS OF SATURDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 5 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,362, as of Saturday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 339 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 161,320. The new cases include:

*51 in Multnomah County

*39 in Clackamas County

*38 in Washington County

*32 in Marion County

*31 in Jackson County

*25 in Josephine County

*18 in Lane County

*16 each in Coos and Linn counties

*15 in Benton County

*11 in Douglas County

*7 in Umatilla County

*6 in Curry County

*5 in Clatsop County

*4 in Deschutes County

*3 each in Klamath, Malheur, Tillamook and Union counties

*2 each in Crook and Yamhill counties

*1 each in Baker, Columbia, Hood River, Jefferson, Polk and Wasco counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 70 to 94. 1 each lived in Columbia, Coos, Lane, Multnomah and Yamhill counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 106, which is 9 fewer than on Friday. There are 26 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 4 fewer than on Friday.

OHA reported that 35,608 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 22,630 vaccine doses were administered on Friday. 12,978 were administered on previous days but were added into the vaccine registry on Friday.

OHA has now administered a cumulative total of 1,487,154 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 1,858,385 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
