A Winter Weather Advisory starts Sunday night at 5:00 p.m. for parts of central Douglas County.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said 1 to 4 inches of snow is expected above 1,800 feet, with up to 5 inches above 5,000 feet.
The Advisory area also includes Jackson and Josephine counties and eastern Curry County. This includes the passes between Canyonville and Grants Pass and Highway 227 between Tiller and Trail. It also includes elevations about 1,500 feet in the eastern Douglas County foothills, including Toketee Falls.
Rain is expected to change to snow in the late afternoon to early evening. Snow may initially melt on roadways but should impact roadways more as the evening progresses and into overnight. Snow levels will lower to lower valley floors late in the night and early Monday morning in showers. Light snow between a trace to less than an inch is possible on lower valley floors down to the 500-foot elevation.
Drivers should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination.
The Advisory continues until 10:00 a.m. Monday.
