COVID-19 CLAIMS 3 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,296

COVID-19 has claimed 3 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,296, as of Saturday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 202 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 157,079. The new cases include:

*27 in Jackson County

*26 in Marion County

*18 each in Douglas and Washington counties

*16 in Lane County

*15 in Coos County

*11 each in Deschutes, Josephine, and Multnomah counties

*7 in Klamath County

*5 each in Benton, Clackamas, and Malheur counties

*4 each in Polk, Tillamook, Umatilla and Yamhill counties

*3 in Baker County

*2 each in Curry and Lincoln counties

*1 each in Harney, Hood River, Jefferson, and Wasco counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 58 to 82. 1 each in Benton, Clackamas and Curry counties

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 113, which is 8 fewer than on Friday. There are 29 COVID patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 1 fewer than on Friday.

OHA reported that 33,847 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 18,943 doses were administered on Friday. 14,904 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Friday.

OHA has now administered a cumulative total of 1,115,802 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 1,362,535 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
