COVID-19 HAS CLAIMED 9 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOTAL AT 2,293, AS OF FRIDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 9 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,293, as of Friday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 251 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 156,884. The new cases include:

*31 in Coos County

*29 in Jackson County

*24 in Douglas County

*22 in Marion County

*17 in Clackamas County

*15 each in Deschutes and Washington counties

*13 in Multnomah County

*10 each in Polk and Umatilla counties

*7 each in Baker and Josephine counties

*5 each in Benton and Curry counties

*4 each in Klamath, Linn, Malheur and Tillamook counties

*3 in Grant County

*2 in Union County

*1 each in Clatsop, Crook, Jefferson, Lake, Wallowa and Yamhill counties

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 132, which is 8 fewer than on Thursday. There are 30 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 1 more than on Thursday.

OHA reported that 38,632 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 22,438 doses were administered on Thursday. 16,194 doses were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Thursday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 1,348,255 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
