27 more people have received new positive test results for COVID-19 in Douglas County, as of Wednesday.
An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 2,546. Of those, 2,421 are people that have received positive test results and 125 are presumptive. There have been 55 deaths. 19 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 15 locally and 4 outside the area. 194 people are in isolation. 618 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network are supporting 812 people that are either in isolation or quarantine.
The update said social gatherings among family and friends are a significant contributor to the spread of COVID-19. With COVID-19 transmission increasing in our local area, the risk of being exposed to the virus is even greater. The update said residents should carefully consider the risks of gathering with family and friends, even if its just for coffee or a playdate.
The next drive through testing clinic with DPHN will be Friday in Roseburg.
