COVID-19 CLAIMS 5 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,154, AS OF SATURDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 5 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,154, as of Saturday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 536 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 152,711. The new cases include:

*72 in Umatilla County

*69 in Multnomah County

*66 in Washington County

*55 in Marion County

*41 in Lane County

*38 in Jackson County

*26 in Clackamas County

*20 in Douglas County

*18 in Josephine County

*17 in Yamhill County

*15 each in Deschutes and Polk counties

*14 in Coos County

*10 in Columbia County

*7 in Curry County

*6 each in Linn and Morrow counties

*5 each in Benton, Klamath and Lake counties

*4 each in Baker and Jefferson counties

*2 each in Clatsop, and Hood River counties

*1 each in Lincoln, Tillamook, Union, and Wallowa counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 66 to 90. 1 each lived in Jackson, Linn, Marion, Multnomah and Washington counties.

OHA said Umatilla had a higher than anticipated case-count due to approximately 1,400 backlogged test results received on Friday. The test results were from June 2020 through January of 2021. OHA said cases were investigated locally at the time of their positive test but were not electronically reported to OHA.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 163, which is 13 fewer than on Friday. There are 51 COVID-19 patents in intensive care unit beds, which is 2 more than on Friday.

OHA reported that 25,602 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 20,646 doses were administered on Friday. 4,956 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Friday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 781,202 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 924,575 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
