The Stewart Park Pavilion has re-opened after receiving extensive upgrades.
City of Roseburg Communications Specialist Eric Johnson said the structure was originally built in the early 1970’s. It has a new metal roof, along with sky lights and new lighting features, which will help illuminate the facility during the winter months. Johnson said improvements also included new trusses, roof purlins and sheeting.
A $75,000 grant from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department was used to help fund the project.
Johnson said due to COVID-19 restrictions, city staff asks that residents and visitors enjoy the facility in a safe manner. Johnson said social distancing should be practiced, and face masks should be worn while inside the facility.
