The City of Roseburg has a vacancy on its Planning Commission.
Communications Specialist Eric Johnson said the commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month to consider long and short-range land use development issues within the City and Urban Growth Boundary. It reviews and takes action on land use and development projects based on the provisions of the City Land Use and Development Regulations. The commission also reviews and acts on legislative applications. Johnson said while many actions are a recommendation to the City Council for final consideration, other decisions are final unless appealed to the Council.
The Planning Commission consists of seven members appointed by the City Council. All commissioners serve a four-year term, except when filling a vacant unexpired term. This applicant would fill an existing term, which expires at the end of 2021.
The position is open until it is filled. Once a sufficient number of applications are received, staff will present them to the City Council for consideration. Johnson said then the Council can select candidates to interview during a regularly scheduled meeting and make a determination.
