Crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association dealt with a small fire in south Douglas County earlier this week.
Fire Prevention Specialist Kyle Reed told News Radio 1240 KQEN, the Canyon Pass Fire was located seven miles south of Canyonville, and inside the footprint of last summer’s Mile Post 97 Fire. Reed said it was discovered by a fire detection camera.
Reed said the fire burned a large pile and surrounding area, totaling about a quarter of an acre. Three engines, a bull dozer and a water tender worked on the fire Tuesday. Reed said one engine went back to check for hot spots on Wednesday.
