Roseburg Police jailed a woman for an alleged disorderly conduct incident on Friday morning.
An RPD report said at 9:00 a.m. officers contacted 39-year-old Sarah Raines at her camp in the 1300 block of West Harvard Avenue. The camp reportedly had garbage spilling out of it and was in violation of the city’s camping ordinance.
Officers told Raines that she was going to be issued a citation, and she became irate. The woman started screaming at officers and walked away. Raines saw officers following her and walked onto West Harvard Avenue, stopping several vehicles. She was detained after a brief struggle and continued to pull away from officers while being escorted to a patrol vehicle.
Raines was transported to corrections and charged with resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct and offensive littering. Bail was set at $10,000. She was cited for her first offense of prohibited camping.
