A Roseburg man was cited after a vehicle versus school bus collision on Monday morning.
A report from Roseburg Police said at 6:30 a.m. a 40-year old man was driving east on Oak Street when he allegedly ran a red light at the intersection with Northeast Stephens. A 67-year old man was headed northbound in the school bus, which hit the sedan, sending it into a power box at the northeast corner of the intersection.
The sedan’s driver was taken to Mercy Medical Center for minor injuries. His vehicle was severely damaged. The man was cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and for failure to obey a traffic control device.
Transportation Supervisor Denny Austin of the Roseburg School District said no students were on the bus when the wreck took place. Austin said an inspection would be done on the bus to see how extensive the damage is. He said the driver was shaken up but otherwise was fine.
Staff with the Oregon Department of Transportation responded to the scene to repair the damaged utility box.
