A Myrtle Creek man was jailed after running from police early Tuesday morning.
A report from MCPD said at about 2:30 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for traffic violations near the corner of Division and North Myrtle. The report said a passenger was hiding his face with the bill of his hat. That passenger, later identified as Jacob White, allegedly gave the officer a false name. That name happened to be someone who had warrants out for their arrest. When the officer tried to take White into custody, he allegedly took off running.
After being captured it was learned that White was also wanted by his parole officer. He was charged with giving false information to police, resisting arrest and for third degree escape. He was initially held on $18,750 bail.
