MAN JAILED ON THEFT AND ROBBERY COUNTS

An Oakridge man was jailed for second-degree theft and third-degree robbery charges on Saturday.
Information from Roseburg Police said at 2:20 a.m. during an alleged theft from Sherm’s Thunderbird on Stewart Parkway, the 52-year old man attempted to pull a loss-prevention officer to the ground to escape detention. The suspect was ultimately detained after being thrown to the ground.
The man was taken to Mercy Medical Center for evaluation, was cleared by medical staff, and then was transported to corrections. As of Monday afternoon, he was detained on $5,000 bail.
