April 22, 2024 10:10 a.m.

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shot’s fired incident early Monday.

A DCSO report said at approximately 2:45 a.m. a 51-year-old man came down from the Callahan’s from mudding with some friends. He and his two friends were stacked on the 4300 block of Melrose Road which prevented another man from driving around.

That man attempted to pass which made the first driver angry. Both men were reportedly passing and break checking one another. Shots were reportedly fired but neither vehicle had bullet holes. Both people were claiming the other person is who one who had fired the shots.

Shell casings were located near the intersection with Champagne Creek Drive, which were marked and recovered. A witness was on Bronco Drive and saw and heard the shots, but due to low light was unable to make out which vehicle the shots had been fired from.

Additional follow up is continuing into the incident.
