A warming and drying trend is expected through at least Thursday in the area of the Windigo, Potter and Big Swamp fires.

An update from Northwest Incident Management Team 10 said temperatures around 90 degrees are expected in the lowlands and mid to upper 80s on the ridges with humidity in the teens. Better humidity recoveries are expected with slightly milder conditions in the lowlands.

A new lightning-caused fire that started in the Boulder Creek Wilderness, called the Camel Hump Fire, will now be managed by this IMT. A coordinated response between firefighters on the ground and air resources are now working to suppress the fire. It is estimated to be less than 10 acres.

The Potter Fire is approximately 619 acres and is now 72 percent contained. The fire made progress backing down to the established control lines on the 269 Road. With favorable weather conditions, firefighters are performing small tactical burns to clean up unburned pockets of fuel along fire lines.

The Big Swamp Fire is listed at 110 acres with the containment level up to 57 percent. Mop up operations continue as crews patrol the fire perimeter looking for hotspots.

The Windigo Fire remains at 1,007 acres with containment at 96 percent. A designated repair group is working to complete repairs on roads, trails, and dozer lines that were utilized by firefighters. The fire remains in patrol status.

761 people are working on the fires. That includes 23 hand crews, 15 engines, 6 dozers, 6 water tenders, and 2 helicopters.
