RIVERBEND LIVE! COWBOY POETRY AND WESTERN MUSIC FRIDAY NIGHT

In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Riverbend Live! will have its annual night of cowboy poetry and western music Friday night.

Dom Flemons and Andy Hedges will perform. Flemons is a Grammy winner and two-time Emmy nominee. He is known as The American Songster as his repertoire of music covers over a hundred years. In 2005 Flemons formed the Carolina Chocolate Drops. He left the group to pursue his solo career in 2014.

Andy Hedges is a songster, reciter and storyteller. He performs classic cowboy poetry, obscure cowboy songs, dust bowl ballads and the blues. He has released nine albums and hosts the Cowboy Crossroads podcast.

The event begins at 7:00 p.m. Those attending should bring their dinner along with wine or beer, or purchase items from the vendors. Blankets or chairs can be put out ahead of time.

The series concludes with a new Local Artist Showcase next Friday.
