In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
A night of blues music will be featured at Riverbend Live! Friday night.
LaRhonda Steele and The Steele Family Band will be featured. LaRhonda Steele is a blues and gospel singer and songwriter and has been dubbed “The First Lady of Portland Blues”. Steele is a recipient of many awards and was the 2020 inductee into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame. Her voice can be enjoyed on recordings by national and international artists like Gino Vannelli, Curtis Salgado, Lloyd Jones and Norman Sylvester.
Those attending can bring their meal along with wine or beer. Vendors will also have items for sale. The venue is tobacco and pet free. Concerts continue weekly through August 5th and begin at 7:00 p.m. Take Exit 119 from Interstate 5 to get to Winston’s Riverbend Park. More information at www.riverbendlive.org.
