A motorcyclist escaped police pursuit on Monday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 4:20 p.m. a deputy was in the 6000 block of Garden Valley Road when a black sport motorcycle passed his patrol vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The deputy was able to catch up with the motorcycle in the 9000 block and paced it at 90 miles per hour. After turning on the patrol vehicle’s overhead lights, the motorcycle took off at a higher rate of speed as it continued north on the road. The report said the pursuit continued for about five miles, but was terminated due to high speeds and unsafe conditions.
