Temperatures are beginning to heat up in the region, ahead of hotter weather on the way later this week.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the mercury reached 84 degrees Tuesday at the Roseburg Regional Airport. Medford had a high of 91 degrees. Those were not record highs for the date.

Roseburg is forecast to reach nearly 90 degrees on Friday, 95 degrees Saturday and 98 degrees on Sunday. Medford is expected to hit 94 degrees Friday, 100 degrees Saturday and 102 degrees on Sunday.
