The Douglas County Clerk’s Office released Updated Unofficial Preliminary Results for the Primary Election, early Thursday evening.
While additional votes have been counted, there was no change in the outcome of the three school district bond measures. The Roseburg School District $154 million bond levy continues to go down to defeat with identical percentages of 56 percent against and 44 percent in favor. The South Umpqua School District $20.9 million bond levy has gained three percentage points in favor and lost three percent of the no votes, but is still losing, now with 63 percent against and 37 percent voting yes. In the Days Creek School District, the percentage of voters in favor has risen slightly, but the $4 million bond levy is still failing with 55 percent against and 45 percent voting yes.
In the races for Douglas County Commissioner positions, there has been one change to note. Incumbent Chris Boice now has 51 percent of the vote. If that holds until the results are certified, Boice has won and will not face a runoff in the General Election. Challenger Michael Ruehle is now at 19 percent, followed by Bev Ashton at 11 percent. Deuce Bohn and Ashley Hicks are both at 9 percent, with Bohn now ahead of Hicks slightly.
Tom Kress is up to 73 percent of the vote, while challenger Diana Fletcher has dropped to 19 percent, while Marcus Black remains at 7 percent.
Tim Freeman is now showing 55 percent of the vote, with Valynn Currie up to 24 percent, and Brandy Stone dropping to 20 percent.
Ballot questions for voters in the Camas Valley Rural Fire District and in the City of Reedsport have had only small percentage changes, with both measures still passing.
The Greater Idaho measure picked up four percentage points in favor and lost four percentage points opposed, and is now losing by a closer margin, 53 percent for to 47 percent against.
Robert Johnson has picked up two percentage points while Jason Thomas has lost two percentage points in the race for Douglas County Circuit Court Judge – Position 4. Johnson now has 62 percent of the vote to 37 percent for Thomas.
Unofficial Final Results will be sent to the Secretary of State’s office on May 25th.
