Long-time incumbent U.S. Senator Ron Wyden easily captured the Democratic nomination to retain his seat. Wyden has eighty-nine percent of the initial votes, according to the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office.
The race for the Republican nomination is too close to call. Jo Rae Perkins leads with thirty-two percent of the vote. Darin Harbeck has thirty percent. Five other candidates lag behind.
