The Douglas County Public Works Department will be temporarily limiting traffic to one lane across the Winchester Bridge on Old Highway 99N on Wednesday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. for a routine bridge inspection.
Motorists can expect delays of less than twenty minutes and flaggers will provide traffic control as needed. Emergency vehicles will be given priority through the work zone.
The Winchester Bridge is also known as the Robert A. Booth Bridge, and is at the north end of the unincorporated Winchester area, where it takes traffic over the North Umpqua River.
The bridge lane closure will affect drive times so motorists should plan ahead, and use alternate routes when possible.
For more information, call the Public Works Department at 440-4481.
