Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man for an alleged assault on Sunday.

A DCSO report said at 11:30 p.m. the suspect and the victim got into an argument on the 6000 block of North Umpqua Highway, east of Roseburg. Each person hit the other. The suspect ended up with a small cut above his left eye while the victim got a large gash above her right eye. She was transported by ambulance to CHI Mercy Medical Center.

The 57-year old man was charged with fourth-degree assault. After arraignment, bail was set at $3,000.
