A Myrtle Creek man was jailed for a reported assault on Thursday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said around 12:30 p.m. two victims living in the 400 block of South Pacific Highway claimed they found a woman in their mud room, throwing items around. One of the victims has a restraining order against the suspect, but she refused to leave. The victims pushed the woman out of the residence.
The report said the suspect returned with a man who allegedly pushed one of the victims and hit him in the back several times. The first suspect allegedly threw an iron at the first victim, hitting him in the head and splitting his eyebrow open.
The male suspect, a 41-year old, was contacted at his residence and taken into custody. He was charged with third-degree assault and for harassment. Bail was initially set at $52,500. Deputies were unable to locate the female suspect, according to the DCSO report.
