A Myrtle Creek man was jailed for an alleged trespass and escape incident early Friday.

A report from Myrtle Creek Police said just before 2:00 a.m. a homeowner called to report that 34-year old Joshua Gunderson was in her backyard knocking on her doors, in the 100 block of Northeast Darcie Way. Officers located the suspect walking down Simpson Lane away from the residence. Gunderson allegedly did not stop when an officer told him to and took off running down Neal Lane.

The report said after a foot pursuit he was caught in the 800 block of Bond Street and taken into custody. It was also found that Gunderson tampered with a gate at the residence to get in the backyard by removing the screws. He was also allegedly found to be in possession of a methamphetamine pipe.

Gunderson was taken into custody. He was charged with second-degree counts of criminal trespass and criminal mischief, for third-degree escape and for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $13,750.
