THREE-VEHICLE FREEWAY CRASH RELATED TO WEATHER

April 13, 2022 10:00 a.m.

A three-vehicle injury crash took place during a hailstorm on Interstate Five on Tuesday afternoon.

Information from the Oregon State Police said just after 1:30 p.m. the wreck happened about a mile south of the Anlauf/Lorane exit. A northbound SUV lost control, skidding off the roadway and rolled, coming to rest on its passenger side in the ditch facing south. The report said the occupants of a vehicle that witnessed the crash stopped to check on those in the first vehicle. A sedan traveling too fast for conditions sideswiped the center barricade and spun out of control, hitting the parked vehicle then rolling over on its passenger side.

All three of those in the third vehicle were taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the first vehicle was also transported to the hospital. The vehicles were all towed from the scene.
