The City of Roseburg is taking applications from people who’d like to serve on the Roseburg Planning Commission.
The current vacancy must be filled by someone who lives within the city. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. May 13th. The person appointed to fill this vacancy would serve until the end of 2024.
The Planning Commission considers long-and short-range land-use development issues within the city and urban growth boundary. While some actions are a recommendation forwarded to the City Council for their final consideration, other decisions are final unless appealed to the council.
The commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. At least six commission members must be Roseburg residents. The seventh can live within the city’s urban growth boundary.
City council interviews of candidates are tentatively scheduled to take place before the council meeting on May 23rd. Qualified candidates will be contacted to set up interviews.
To apply, go to www.cityofroseburg.org or email: info@cityofroseburg.org. Contact the Community Development Department at 492-6750 for more information.
