With the May Primary Election approaching, the Douglas County Clerk’s Office has some reminders for residents.

Clerk Daniel Loomis said the deadline to register to vote or change voter registration information is April 26th. Loomis said voter registration is available online through the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office. The site allows residents to update their current voter registration status, enter a change of address, update registration for name changes or party affiliation or fill out a new voter registration card: https://sos.oregon.gov/voting/Pages/registration.aspx?lang=en

Loomis said according to the State, the Oregon State’s Voter’s Pamphlet, should start arriving around April 22nd. They are compiled and distributed by the Secretary of State’s office. Once available, an electronic and audio version can be found at: https://sos.oregon.gov/voting/Pages/current-election.aspx

Loomis said ballots cannot be counted until the voter’s signature can be verified. Voters whose name or signature has changed need to fill out a new Oregon Voter Registration Card, so their current signature is on file.
