A crash claimed the life of a Roseburg man on Sunday.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 3:15 p.m. a pickup operated by Paul Wells was on Highway 138 near the junction with the entrance road leading to Crater Lake when for an unknown reason, it crossed over the eastbound lane and left the roadway. The vehicle hit a tree after going down an embankment. Wells was pronounced deceased at the scene.

OSP was assisted by several other agencies.
