The Oregon Health Authority’s COVID-19 Weekly Report, released on Wednesday, showed declines in weekly cases and COVID-19 related hospitalizations, but an increase in deaths.
OHA reported 1,403 new cases of COVID-19 during the week of March 21st through March 27th. That’s a 21 percent decline from the previous week. COVID-19 cases have fallen 98 percent from their peak in mid-January.
There were 148 COVID-19 related hospitalizations, down from 156 last week. There were 99 COVID-19 related deaths, up from 90 last week.
OHA said there were 67,504 COVID-19 tests performed with a test positivity rate of 2.7 percent. This covered testing during the week of March 20th through March 26th.
The COVID-19 Weekly Outbreak Report shows 67 total active outbreaks in care facilities, senior living communities and congregate living settings, with 3 or more confirmed cases and 1 or more COVID-19 related deaths.
