Tuesday night, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team seized approximately 90 grams of suspected methamphetamine and arrested a Roseburg man in the parking lot of Wal-Mart on Northwest Stewart Parkway.

DINT Commander Lieutenant Rick McArthur said detectives made contact with 60-year old Randolph Phillips at approximately 8:30 p.m. McArthur said the contact was made due to suspicion that Phillips was involved in drug dealing at that location.

Drug detection K-9 Trapper was applied to the vehicle and he alerted, indicating the presence of narcotics inside.

McArthur said as Phillips was exiting his vehicle to talk with a detective, a plastic bag allegedly containing a substantial quantity of crystal meth fell onto the ground at his feet. A search of the man and his vehicle reportedly revealed more meth, a set of scales used for weighing meth, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Phillips was charged with unlawful possession and distribution of meth. Bail was set at $500,000.
