DEPUTIES SEEKING PORTLAND MAN FOLLOWING PURSUIT

March 26, 2022 12:10 p.m.

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are seeking a Portland man following a pursuit incident on Friday.

A DCSO report said just after 11:30 a.m. while responding to a call regarding a potential kidnapping, a deputy observed a vehicle matching the description and initiated a traffic stop on Old Highway 99 South near the Green Bridge, between Green and Winston. The driver, identified as 24-year old Thomas Satterfield, provided false information and was visibly nervous.

The report said a Winston Police unit arrived on the scene to assist. Satterfield fled east on Highway 42 and then headed north on Carnes Road in an SUV. The pursuit was terminated due to reckless driving and because Satterfield’s identity was known. Bystanders in the area pointed to the last observed location of the suspect, and the vehicle was found abandoned on Rex Street.

A K9 track was attempted, but was unsuccessful. Satterfield is wanted for attempting to elude-a felony, and for reckless driving. Anyone with information is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
