A preview open house for the Douglas Education Service District’s Early Learning and Parenting Resource Center is set for Friday March 18th.
An ESD release said the building at 1871 Northeast Stephens has been remodeled to be a welcoming place for children and families. The release said the agency is committed to providing equitable and increased capacity in early childhood intervention, early learning education and special needs services. Partnerships with families support children from birth through age 21 to provide them with the resources and support to learn, grow and flourish, according to ESD.
The $4.4 million renovation of the 20,000-square-foot building makes room for the agency’s expanding programs and services. The 11-month remodel project began in April 2021 to replace interior infrastructure, upgrade electrical systems, improve airflow, improve seismic resiliency and create a more welcoming environment, complete with evaluation rooms.
The release said the ELPRC location will be open for families and children to receive services beginning March 28th.
The preview event will run from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. It will honor organizations and individuals who have made the building renovation possible, as well as celebrate ongoing partnerships.
