A Riddle woman was seriously injured following a pedestrian versus vehicle accident in Roseburg on Sunday.
A report from Oregon State Police said at about 2:20 p.m. 23-year old Sara Wright was driving south on Interstate 5 between the Garden Valley Boulevard exit and the West Harvard Avenue exit. For an unknown reason, she reportedly pulled her vehicle onto the right shoulder and got out, running into the slow lane of travel.
Another vehicle was heading southbound and attempted to stop, according to road evidence, to avoid the woman standing in the lane of travel, but was unable to do so. Wright was struck by the vehicle. She was ultimately life flighted to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield, with major trauma.
Wright is in critical condition at last check, according to a hospital spokesperson.
