A Roseburg woman was jailed following a shooting investigation Sunday afternoon.

That situation led to nearby streets in southeast Roseburg being closed for over two hours.

Sergeant Daniel Allen from the Roseburg Police, said RPD officers along with deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and staff from the Cow Creek Tribal Police responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Booth at about 2:40 p.m. after it was reported that a woman was outside her residence and was unclothed, screaming and shooting a firearm.

Allen said officers on the scene attempted to make contact with 33-year old Savannah Gilkey when she allegedly pointed a firearm at them, then shot the pistol into the air several times. Gilkey was able to get to her vehicle and leave but she was stopped at a nearby roadblock. She complied with commands and was taken into custody without further incident.

Gilkey was charged with 5 counts of unlawful use of a weapon, 2 counts each of pointing a firearm at another and menacing, and for 5 counts of recklessly endangering another person. She was detained on $306,250 bail.
