CHI Mercy Health-Mercy Medical Center has announced that it has been recognized as a 2022 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital.
A release said compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, this annual recognition honors outstanding performance among the nation’s rural hospitals based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX.
Mercy Medical Center CEO Kelly Morgan said, “This honor and recognition is due to the hard work, dedication and commitment of our employees, the support and dedication of our medical community and the visionary leadership of our Board of Directors”. Morgan said being included in the Top 100 nationally is a reflection of the organizations daily commitment to provide the community access to the highest quality of care, delivered with compassion, while remaining a financially viable organization that can serve future generations of Douglas County residents. Morgan said, “Mercy continues to thrive, even during times of pandemics and staff shortages”.
Mercy’s release said over the course of the last 12 years, the INDEX has established itself as the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. The release said leveraging publicly available data, the INDEX is trusted by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations and state offices of rural health across the country to measure and monitor performance across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
