COVID-19 HAS CLAIMED 2 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,756, AS OF MONDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 2 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,756, as of Monday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 78 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, raising the state total to 206,850. OHA said the daily case count is unusually low. Reported cases on Mondays are typically the lowest of the week. OHA said some local Public Health Authorities did not process laboratory reports on Sunday. The new cases include:

*18 in Multnomah County

*13 in Lane County

*8 each in Josephine and Linn counties

*7 in Clackamas County

*5 in Douglas County

*4 in Yamhill County

*3 each in Clatsop and Deschutes counties

*2 each in Columbia and Curry counties

*1 each in Benton, Jefferson, Morrow, Union and Wasco counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 49 to 54. 1 each lived in Douglas and Linn counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 144, which is 5 fewer than on Sunday. There are 36 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 1 more than on Sunday.

OHA reported that 3,077 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 2,044 doses were administered on Sunday. 1,033 were administered on previous days, but were entered into the vaccine registry on Sunday.
