Two people were hurt in an accident in the Melrose area on Wednesday afternoon.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 4:00 p.m. a 20-year old woman tried to turn off of Melrose Road onto Black Oak to do a u-turn and go back the way she had come. The report said the woman did not make it to a complete stop behind the stop line and her pickup was hit by a second vehicle.
The passenger in the second vehicle, a 69-year old woman, was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center by ambulance with complaints of back pain. The driver said he would have a family member take him to the hospital to check on his wife, and have his knee looked at.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
