Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged burglary on Wednesday morning.

An RPD report said just after 8:50 a.m. officers responded to the 2100 block of Northeast Vine Street after the 36-year-old was called in for being inside residence without permission. The suspect was reportedly stabbing plants with a knife while the only resident home at the time was a juvenile.

The suspect was unknown to the residents and was taken into custody. He was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree criminal trespass. The man was detained without bail and was released later on Wednesday.
