Roseburg Public Schools will begin offering limited in-person instruction opportunities for middle school and high school students starting this month.
Superintendent Jared Cordon said although the district is operating under the Comprehensive Distance Learning model required by the state, the district is able to bring a limited number of students for limited hours on-site while following specific conditions. Cordon said the intent of limited in-person instruction is to provide additional resources to students, such as academic assistance and emotional or mental health support.
A release said the supplemental supports will not be required of students and will be available on a voluntary basis. Cordon said the district will initially provide the service to students in grades 6-12 on December 9th and again on December 16th. Following the winter break, the district will look at expanding those opportunities. Individual schools will guide the process and will be reaching out to families to share more information.
