HIGHEST DAILY STATE DEATH COUNT FOR COVID-19 REPORTED ON TUESDAY

On Tuesday, the Oregon Health Authority reported the highest daily death count for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

24 more deaths were announced, raising the state’s death toll to 936. 1,233 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases bring the state case total to 76,654.

The new cases include:

*270 in Multnomah County

*158 in Washington County

*148 in Clackamas County

*146 in Marion County

*75 in Lane County

*72 in Jackson County

*60 in Deschutes County

*37 in Klamath County

*27 in Linn County

*24 in Polk County

*23 in Umatilla County

*21 in Lincoln County

*19 in each in Benton and Jefferson counties

*14 each in Coos and Yamhill counties

*12 in Hood River County

*11 each in Josephine and Malheur counties

*9 in Union County

*8 in Douglas County

*7 in Clatsop County

*6 each in Columbia, Curry, Tillamook and Wasco counties

*5 each in Lake and Morrow counties

*4 in Crook County

*3 in Baker and Grant counties

*2 each in Harney and Wheeler counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 56 to 96. 6 lived in Multnomah County. 4 each lived in Jackson and Marion counties. 3 each lived in Clackamas and Polk counties. 2 lived in Union County. 1 each lived in Baker and Yamhill counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients across Oregon dropped to 577, 7 fewer than on Monday. There are 111 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, 6 fewer than on Monday.
