COVID-19 CLAIMS 7 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 912 AS OF MONDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 7 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 912 as of Monday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 1,314 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state case total to 75,431.

OHA Director Patrick Allen said “COVID-19 is spreading faster in all parts of Oregon”. Allen said it took six months before 25,000 Oregonians became sick with the virus and two months later until 50,000 COVID-19 infections were reached. He said it took only three weeks to get from there to 75,000 cases.

The new cases include:

*320 in Multnomah County

*228 in Clackamas County

*202 in Washington County

*167 in Marion County

*62 in Lane County

*54 each in Jackson and Deschutes counties

*40 in Umatilla County

*33 in Douglas County

*27 in Yamhill County

*26 in Polk County

*20 in Josephine County

*16 in Linn County

*14 in Columbia County

*9 each in Benton and Jefferson counties

*6 in Union County

*4 each in Coos and Crook counties

*3 in Lincoln County

*2 each in Baker, Curry, Tillamook and Wasco counties

*1 each Clatsop, Harney, Hood River, Klamath, Lake, and Morrow counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 48 to 85. 3 lived in Multnomah County. 2 lived in Marion County. 1 each lived in Lane and Washington counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients across Oregon has increased to 584, which is 45 more than on Sunday. There are 117 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, 10 more than on Sunday.
