1 COVID-19 DEATH REPORTED IN DOUGLAS COUNTY ON MONDAY

Monday, the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team reported 1 more death in the county from COVID-19.

County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer confirmed that the death was a 64-year old. Dannenhoffer said the man passed away Sunday night at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital in Portland. He had tested positive and was hospitalized on Friday, September 25th.

County Commissioner Tim Freeman said over the last six weeks the county has seen a 45 percent increase in reported cases, along with four deaths. Freeman said, “We cannot stress enough the importance of staying vigilant in protecting yourselves, the ones you love and all of our communities from the continued spread of this deadly virus”.

1 more person received positive test results and there is 1 more presumptive case of COVID-19, as of Monday. The total number of cases is now at 351. Of those, 310 people have received positive test results and 41 are presumptive. There have now been 8 deaths. 3 people are hospitalized for COVID-19 locally. 49 people are currently in isolation and 256 are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network are now supporting 305 people that are in either isolation or quarantine. 15,387 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in the county.

The next drive through testing clinic with the Douglas Public Health Network will be Tuesday in Roseburg.
