Staff with the Federal Emergency Management Agency have opened a FEMA External Outreach Site in Glide to assist Douglas County residents affected by the recent wildfires and straight-line winds.
A release from FEMA said the site offers in-person visits for residents to get information about their application, ask questions about letters they receive from FEMA and have their documents scanned to be part of their application.
Representatives from FEMA’s Individual Assistance program are available at the site, which is in the old Middle School Gym. Hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The release said to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread through in-person contact, wearing a mask or face covering is required to gain entry and visitors receive a “no touch” temperature screening. Hand sanitizer is available as well.
Nate Custer of FEMA said the External Outreach Site will offer comprehensive help with additional staff that can answer more specific questions. FEMA’s Disaster Assistance Team. concluded their efforts on Wednesday.
