Here is another event that is happening differently in 2020.
The Roseburg Fright Club is presenting Fairview Manor for two nights, in place of having a haunted house at the Roseburg Elks Lodge.
Organizer Mary Malone told News Radio 1240 KQEN that with so many events canceled for this year, the club wanted this one to happen even if it had to be done in a different style.
Malone said this year it will be Fairview Manor, under the grandstands at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Malone said Fairview Manor is simply a made-up name that was created for a backstory. Those attending are being asked to come in groups that are in one vehicle. When they arrive, one person will get out and pay. When it is the group’s turn, they will get to walk through the area underneath the grandstands where they will be greeted by loud noises, strobe lights, fog, and people that will scare and entertain them.
Malone said they have been working with Douglas Public Health Network to keep the event safe and COVID-19 compliant. Masks are required for guests and those putting the event on.
Fairview Manor will be October 30th and 31st from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Cost is $25 for a car load of up to eight people. Participants can save $1 by bringing a can of food for the United Community Action Network. Proceeds will benefit the Cascade Community Credit Union Fire Relief Fund.
