Crews with the Oregon Department of Transportation are continuing repairs along highways damaged by the recent wildfires.
An ODOT release said drivers should expect delays as work continues and look for alternate routes where possible. Roughly 43 miles of highway remains closed around the state, down from a peak of 244 miles.
Immediate hazard trees have been removed in 97.5 miles of damaged area, an increase of 2.5 miles since last week. Crews are also assessing culverts, pavement, slopes, signs and equipment for damage.
On Highway 138E, pilot cars are operating in an eight-mile stretch starting approximately 4 miles east of Glide. Flagging is taking place starting in the Swiftwater area and going for around 14 miles. Go to www.tripcheck.com for the latest updates on the highway’s status.
