AIR POLLUTION ADVISORY CONTINUES THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON

October 1, 2020 4:25 a.m.

An Air Pollution Advisory continues for parts of southern Oregon through Saturday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.

A statement from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality said wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels.

Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, can aggravate heart and lung disease and other serious health problems. Residents should limit outdoor activities and should keep children indoors if it is smoky.

The Advisory area includes Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, the Southern Oregon Cascades, Josephine and Jackson counties and other nearby areas.
