A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 11:00 a.m. a 27-year old from Argentina pulled off the side of Old Highway 99 South and decided to make a U-turn without looking. The driver’s SUV collided into the side of a sedan. The SUV had three passengers while sedan had one juvenile passenger.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. The driver who caused the wreck was cited for failure to yield when entering the roadway and for driving uninsured.
The report said the driver and a group of friends have been stuck in the United States due to the COVID-19 situation, so they had purchased the SUV.
